Professional Development

Actively pursuing professional development ensures that knowledge and skills stay relevant and up-to-date.

SAC believes that staying up-to-date with the latest trends in the industry, as well as learning new skills, is critical. Our members benefit from a variety of options.

A group of professionals attend an SAC conference

SAC is currently planning our 2024 Conference from May 9-11 in Vancouver, BC. To celebrate the milestone of SAC’s 60th anniversary, we are planning an exciting programme for speech-language pathologists and audiologists.

The CCCABI course is a clinical short course, designed by Sheila MacDonald, that is specifically tailored to speech-language pathologists who serve individuals with acquired brain injuries.

There’s no shortage of ways to get involved and ensure your knowledge stays current. Take a look at events, webcasts, webinars and workshops.

SAC’s Certification Program takes a modernized approach to certification, and allows members to demonstrate to employers and the general public their commitment to life-long learning.

The course will describe contemporary and advanced approaches to assessment and intervention in emergent literacy, reading, and writing disorders.
