Introducing SAC’s New CEO, Dawn Wilson

The Board of Directors of Speech-Language & Audiology Canada is pleased to announce the appointment of Dawn Wilson as the association’s Chief Executive Officer, effective June 29.

Dawn brings to SAC a range of experience in the non-profit and private sector, including experience in health care. Prior to joining SAC, Dawn served as Executive Director at the Canadian Association of General Surgeons, Colon and Rectal Surgeons and Canadian Hernia Society. Dawn has also held roles with the Canadian Association of Thoracic Surgeons and Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

A graduate of the Certified Association Executive (CAE) program through the Canadian Society for Association Executives, Dawn is excited to apply her knowledge and skills to benefit the association and its members and associates.

An active listener and thoughtful leader, Dawn is keen to learn more about the professions of speech-language pathology and audiology and join SAC’s senior management team in advocating for the professions on Parliament Hill and with other stakeholders.

Dawn is originally from Scotland, and lives in Ottawa with her husband and two teenage sons. As an avid fitness enthusiast Dawn keenly embraces an active lifestyle to support strong physical and mental health and well being for herself and her family.​
